El grupo alemán Scorpions grabó esta canción en 1990

La letra de la canción habla de los sucesos políticos de aquella época (1990) en el este de Europa, la caida del muro de Berlín, el fin de la república democrática Alemana, el fin de la guerra fría y de la URSS y de la era comunista en Europa.  

La canción incluye referencias a la ciudad de Moscú a causa de una visita del grupo a la capital rusa en 1989.

En 1991, la banda fue invitada por Mijail Gorbachov a  Rusia para interpretar Wind Of Change, en la plaza del Kremlin.
